Event Invitations
Taking the time to create a custom invitation can heighten the anticipation guests will feel towards your event.
I was approached by a local 4H hog group to create a postcard invitation to their annual banquet dinner. In previous years, they sent out a sheet of paper with black and white text with the event details to 4H members and buyers. Not exactly inspiring.
I started by giving them a big graphic pig in 4H green with a very appropriate quote on the bottom of the card. Directions and event details are on the back of the card.

Watercolor Roses
With the new trend of multi-layered, pocket and elaborate invitations, I find that many brides find themselves in the typical delimma of champagne tastes on a beer budget. I am definately one that likes pocket invitations and anything different, but these come with a cost. I think it's important to stress to my brides that beautiful, unique invitations can be done on a smaller budget and still blow their guests out of the water!
This is a 6 x 9 printed invitation with watercolor roses. It can stand alone on beautiful cream colored paper, or include one layer of a beautiful shimery paper behind. This is a very elegant and still very unique invitation without having the added expense of having a folder type invitation.

Cupcake of a Birthday!
One of the wonderful joys I have is creating invitations and announcements for my family and friends. My step-daughter and I planned a cupcake decorating party for her 6th birthday and I couldn't wait to make her an extra special invitation to send to all her friends! Taking a cue from the fun multi-colored polka dot paper, I created a fun, youthful, but DEFINATELY not baby-ish invitation for my special girl.
After the party, I took photos from the party, along with a drawing my daughter made and created custom thank you notes. I left room on the bottom to write a short personal message to all our special guests.

In this case, a party for three brothers with their favorite theme of Transformers was requested. After a big thumbs-up and a "Coooooooooooooooooool" rating from my 7 year old son, I created this Invitation. We continued the theme with Favor Hang-Tags and custom Thank You Cards.

The invitation that started it all
Here is the invitation that started it all for Little Bee Custom Designs. I was a bride back in 2002 and was disappointed in the lack of personalization and originality of invitations available to me, so I decided to create my own! The pocket-fold was a custom design that I cut by hand. I did not use an envelope and mailed the invitation as you see it. They came through the mail beautifully!
Originality is the center of Little Bee Custom Design's vision. We strive to make invitations uniquely "Yours" and give your guests something to talk about.
I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your invitation needs and see what we can create uniquely for you!

Baby Samantha's Baptism
This is a great example of my design process. I started out with Sammy's Mommy contacting me about making some "Bling-Bling, Girly-Girl Baptism Invitations". She wanted the "Wow" factor. Did we hit it?
I started by designing a computerized preliminary design. From there, we tweaked and revised, then we discussed actual paper samples, ribbon, swarvoski crystal colors, etc. We decided to put the invitation in a gift box to add some more specialness to the invitation. The boxes were hand-painted to color match the paper inside the invitation!
The box will be wrapped in kraft mailing paper and topped with a custom printed label.
As always, click on the photo to see a full-sized version!
Congratulation Sammy!

It's Graduation Time!
I created this layered graduation party invitation to look just like a diploma! I used the graduate's school colors and a fun, shiny patent-leather look paper to make a mini diploma. This can be customized with your school colors and even your school crest!

Sweet Baby Girl Shower
Again - I love doing work for friends! I feel so special that people who know me and know what I do trust me with their invitations and special events! I was honored when my co-worker Lisa asked me to design shower invitations for her sister. She showed me the decorations they were going to use and I decided to base the invitation on the theme of the party!

Rylan turns 3!
I've really enjoyed doing photo invitations lately, especially when it's for someone I know! I've "known" Rylan since he was born! His Mommy and I belong to an online mommy's forum and actually met while planning our weddings! Sweet little baby Rylan has turned into handsome little boy Rylan and needed a very special invitation to his 3rd Birthday Party! The theme was heavy construction equipment and the photo his Mommy sent with the hard hat on was just PERFECT! It's always fun to dress up your child and really set the tone of the invitation with props!
This invitation was designed and sent to the client to print on their own. This is an option I offer and find it works well when people want to print themselves or have tight time constraints.

Favor and Gift Bag Tags
Tamara is a wonderful bride who I met through a very dear friend. She recently got engaged and is heading of to Costa Rica of all places to get married!!! Boy, do I wish I could sneak along in her luggage!
I had the privelidge of creating her wedding shower invitations and was so happy to be working with her.
She approached me to make some favor tags and some gift bag tags for her wedding. Here colors are various shades of blue and she liked the idea of something simple and tropical. Here's what I came up with!
Here is the favor tag. This is a double sided tag and will have a hole punched in the corner.
This is the tag for her Welcome Bag for the guests:
Congratulations Tamara!!! Make sure to send photos when you get back and drink something cool and slushy for me!

Lohn-Caragine Wedding
I met this wonderful bride, Dana, online on a wedding forum. Through emails and various phone conversations, we planned an overall scheme for her wedding stationery. She wanted elegant, tailored and glitzy with a theme of "An Enchanted Evening" for her wedding.
I started by designing her Save the Date. It was a 5" x 7" booklet bound with a black eyelet. The front featured the words Tying the Knot with a black grosgrain ribbon. The pages inside the booklet contained information about the wedding weekend.
I was then contacted by the Bride's mother to design her bridal shower invitations! Taking inspiration from her Save the Dates, I created a black outter jacket that was tied with gold ribbon. Inside contained a childhood photo of the Bride and the shower information.
I went in a different direction for her wedding invitations. I started with a shimery pearl white PocketFold pared with a tone-on-tone white and antique gold flowered backing. A satin ribbon and personalized label topped off the outside of the invitation. A reception card, direction card and RSVP rounded out the ensemble.

Bridal Shower Invitation
I was contacted by a dear friend of mine to design a bridal shower invitation for a good friend of hers. She wanted something elegant and handmade. We used some left-over paper from her wedding as a sentimental touch. The black damask pattern was printed on white pearl metallic cardstock and aqua Swarovski crystals were hand glued to the printed invitations.
